Breast development occurs in distinct stages throughout a woman's life, first before birth, and again at puberty and during the childbearing years. Changes also occur to the breasts during menstruation and when a woman reaches menopause.

USA Health provides expert breast care for women, including routine exams, screening and diagnostic mammograms, the region’s most advanced care for breast cancer and a full range of breast surgical procedures.

Breast Cancer

At USA Health, medical and radiation oncologists, hematologists, surgeons and other cancer specialists work together to provide diagnosis, staging, surgery and advanced breast cancer treatment options to our patients.

Mammograms

Routine Exams

Your USA Health gynecologist will perform a breast exam as part of your annual visit. This is an important part of your visit, since your doctor will be able to notice any changes in your breasts from year to year.

The USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital Breast Care Center is located in Strada Patient Care Center.

We give our mammogram patients quick, convenient and thorough treatment. We provide our patients with a report from the reading radiologist before they leave—there is no waiting for a phone call hours or days later. And if more treatment is needed, we contact your physician promptly with our recommendations.

Our Selenia digital mammography system has the capability to detect breast cancer earlier in more women than the film mammography at many hospitals. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, and digital mammography provides an important tool for early detection, which is the best hope for treatment and recovery.
