From routine deliveries to those that require additional expertise, USA Health cares for more women and babies than anyone else in the region. Our team of physician specialists, nurses and technicians tends to the needs of mother and child before, during and after delivery with the most advanced technology and a family-centered approach.
If complications or special needs arise during pregnancy, we encourage patients to visit the OB-GYN Evaluation Center at the Children's & Women's Hospital immediately. Our specially trained technicians use high-level ultrasound to monitor and evaluate the mother and baby.
Our physicians are also educators in the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama. Visit the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology to learn about its academic mission, residency and fellowship program.
USA Health offers a comprehensive range of care for mothers and babies before, during and after pregnancy.
While we deliver more babies than any other hospital in the region, our family-centered birthing services are especially tailored for each individual mother and baby. Our hope is for each pregnancy and delivery to progress normally, but we have the resources and expertise to handle unexpected complications.
Pregnant patients on the Gulf Coast region who suffer from conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, lupus or other chronic diseases, or may be having multiple births, are typically referred to our high-risk obstetrics team.
The Hollis J. Wiseman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the region’s only Level III NICU, which offers the most advanced care for premature and critically ill newborns.
For women, obstetric and gynecological care is usually one of their primary health concerns. Our OB/GYN care includes regular wellness exams, PAP smears, pelvic exams, prenatal care, labor and delivery care, gynecologic surgery, and management of menopause and peri-menopausal conditions.
USA Health offers specialists in every area of pregnancy and childbirth care.
