What’s your job title and what does it entail?
Program coordinator for the division of pulmonary/critical care medicine at University Hospital.

What is your favorite or most rewarding part of your position?
Interacting with my colleagues and helping to make their day better by doing my job to the best of my ability and brainstorming new ways to help each year be better than the last.

What originally made you want to join USA Health?
I heard good things about the hospital. I love the friendly atmosphere, and I feel my skills are particularly well-suited for the position because I believe I have the type of knowledge to succeed in this role.

How long have you been with USA Health?
I worked temp for one year, and I have been full time for 4 1/2 years.

What has working with USA Health taught you?
Coming from a large healthcare sector from Louisiana, I know hospitals offer tremendous opportunities for professional development and exploration. In a hospital setting, there are always new and exciting things to learn that will inspire you to achieve more. By giving employees the opportunity to get involved in various projects, UH offers all types of career opportunities. Overall, I want to make a difference in people's wellness and give my fellows the best experience for our program, and I knew that UH would be a great place to start. The hospital’s work environment and values are aligned with my own, and that is important to me.

Do you have any goals that you want to achieve in the health system?
Yes, my goal is to continue to grow and climb the corporate ladder to use all of my skills learned and earned from my BHSA and MBA with a concentration in healthcare.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with family and spoiling my grandson, Dillon. I also enjoy cooking and watching football (Geaux Ravens!).

Do you have any advice for people who want to work in the health system?
Keep an open mind, and strive to do more by applying yourself in whatever job you are given. I have worked in healthcare for 20 years. I started as a medical assistant, then a patient care technician. I continued applying myself and got my phlebotomy license, but I didn't stop there. I went to administration, where I oversaw general pediatrics, pediatric rehab and OB-GYN departments. I knew that I had the skills to help the company, improve our revenue for the departments and bring quality delivery of care to the communities we serve. During these past years, I have worked with a lot of people who have inspired me to continue to grow by putting my best foot forward. Always keep a positive outlook on all situations, and apply your skills to improve your role in the company.
