What’s your job title, and what does it entail?
I am currently an infusion specialist at USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. I started as a wound care nurse and step-down burn care nurse at University Hospital in 2013.

What's your favorite or most rewarding part of your position?
My favorite part is running into one of my patients in the hallway months or possibly years post-chemotherapy. They mention if they are still in remission and thank the nurses for all their efforts to ensure safe and efficient therapy during their care.

What originally made you want to join USA Health?
During prayer, I asked God if I should accept a position in the health system. His response was that the experience would be more valuable than money, and I trusted Him.

How long have you been with USA Health?
I have been a USA Health employee for eight years and counting.

What has working with USA Health taught you?
Working in the health system has taught me that there is no other work environment like it. The family-like atmosphere is genuine and is felt the minute you walk into the facility.

Do you have any goals that you want to achieve in the health system?
My current goal is to utilize my skills as an infusion specialist to transition into advanced practice nursing specializing in oncology services.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?
My current favorite hobby is yoga on early Saturday mornings. I enjoy home interior projects and gardening. I love a good read from time to time. I also enjoy spending time with my three children in the different activities that they are involved in. I am surrounded by loyal and loving friends and family that keep me constantly in their prayers. What a blessing!

Do you have any advice for people who want to work in the health system?
My advice for those who desire to work as a healthcare employee is to consider their role and the impact that they will have on those who are vulnerable and need special care. It is far more rewarding than money.
