To make collaboration and group communication easier for everyone, USA Health is implementing Office 365 for use on computers (PC and Mac), tablets and cell phones.

The software allows USA Health employees access to cloud-based files such as Microsoft Word documents and Excel spreadsheets in a HIPAA-compliant way, said Steve Travers, chief information officer for USA Health.

“One of the most useful features is Microsoft Teams, which enables groups to collaborate using any device by calling, meeting, instant messaging and sharing files,” he said.

In addition to Microsoft Teams, Office 365 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive SharePoint, Sway, Forms, Planner, Video Stream, To Do and Outlook.

Currently, the IT, Patient Access and Emergency Medicine departments are using Office 365. USA Health is in the process of bringing on several users from ambulatory operations and nursing administration.
