A Night Honoring Heroes planned

Amid the COVID pandemic, this year’s event has changed to a different format that still will provide the opportunity to support the new Fanny Meisler Trauma Center, a critical component of trauma care along the upper Gulf Coast region.

For the past three years, USA Health’s A Night Honoring Heroes event has provided the community the opportunity to gather in celebration of individuals who deliver life-saving patient care while also supporting the region’s only Level I Trauma Center at University Hospital.

Amid the COVID pandemic, this year’s event has changed to a different format that still will provide the opportunity to support the new Fanny Meisler Trauma Center, a critical component of trauma care along the upper Gulf Coast region.

“University Hospital has expanded to better meet the vital healthcare needs of patients in and around Mobile,” said Sam Dean, administrator at USA Health University Hospital. “We look forward to hosting A Night Honoring Heroes celebration in the near future. In the meantime, we still have opportunities for the community to support the region’s only Level I Trauma Center.”

According to Leila Nichols, director of development for medical affairs and alumni relations, the format for this year’s event has changed to accommodate COVID guidelines.

“Like so many other organizations, USA Health has adapted its fundraising efforts in 2020. In excited anticipation of the grand opening of the Fanny Meisler Trauma Center, and in keeping with the fundraising efforts of A Night Honoring Heroes benefiting the trauma center, we are providing our generous supporters and community partners with opportunities to name the various areas of the new trauma center in lieu of event sponsorships,” Nichols said. “The naming opportunities will be in perpetuity and will be a constant reminder to our staff and the community we serve of the generosity of our donors who help make our life-saving services possible.”
