On Monday, Brendan Weishaar arrived at USA Health University Hospital just before his shift as a nurse anesthetist. After completing an employee attestation on his cell phone, he received a green sticker for his employee badge, signifying that he is cleared to enter all USA Health facilities without future screenings.

As of Monday, April 5, all USA Health employees who complete the new attestation, agreeing to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, seek COVID-19 testing, report any known household or other qualifying exposures, wear a mask and follow USA Health COVID-19 procedures each day, receive a green sticker and can bypass screenings.

“It’s more convenient this way,” commented nurse Priya Dunna, as she arrived for her shift in the emergency department at University Hospital.

The green stickers will be used for the next two weeks or until everyone has completed the attestation, whichever happens first. The attestation also states that failure to comply with the agreed-upon criteria may result in disciplinary action, including termination.

In May 2020, USA Health implemented the online attestation so that employees could answer COVID-19 screening questions quickly and easily before reporting for work.
