Changes in COVID testing for pre-op patients

USA Health is making changes to pre-op testing for surgery patients starting on Monday, April 4.

Published Mar 29th, 2022

With the community’s COVID-19 positivity rate consistently staying below 5%, USA Health is making changes to pre-op testing for surgery patients starting on Monday, April 4.

Patients will no longer use the drive-thru testing option at the Surgical Navigation Center as part of their pre-op care. All patients undergoing aerosol-generating procedures will be tested with a rapid antigen test once they arrive for their pre-op appointment. Patients will continue to receive routine COVID assessments, and symptomatic patients will have procedures delayed.

If the community positivity rate rises above 5%, USA Heath will return to drive-thru testing for all patients.
