Nicholas A. Deebel, M.D., is a fellowship-trained men's health urologist specializing in andrology, male infertility, reproductive microsurgery, and sexual medicine. He serves as director of Men's Sexual Health and Male Reproductive Medicine at the University of South Alabama, where he is an assistant professor of urology.
Dr. Deebel is a Pennsylvania native. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology, magna cum laude, from Juniata College, and his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He completed his urologic surgery residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. He subsequently completed his fellowship in andrology and male infertility at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine under world-renowned men’s sexual health and male fertility specialists.
Dr. Deebel is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for men and their partners across a broad spectrum of urologic conditions. He offers the full spectrum of evaluation and management of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, hypogonadism, male stress incontinence, and no-scalpel vasectomy. He is the founder of USA Health’s multidisciplinary prostate cancer survivorship program offering strategies to both preserve and restore urinary continence and erectile function in men diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is an expert in inflatable penile prosthesis, artificial urinary sphincter, and male urethral sling surgery.
Dr. Deebel is deeply devoted to helping men and their loved ones with their family-building efforts. He works in partnership with reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialists both in Mobile as well as across the Gulf Coast spanning into Florida and Mississippi. He is a specialist in advanced sperm-retrieval procedures, including microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) as well as microsurgical vasectomy reversal. He also works closely with cancer specialists at The USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute and USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital to offer cancer patients fertility preservation options.
His research interests encompass male reproductive medicine, sexual health outcomes, and testosterone replacement therapy. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and has presented at national meetings including the American Urological Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Sexual Medicine Society of North America. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, and the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, strength training, and exploring the outdoors as a fisherman.
