Local Goodness set for May 3 to benefit USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital
Proceeds from Local Goodness support the expansion of pediatric interventional radiology services — a minimally invasive medical specialty that uses imaging to treat conditions such as biopsies, central line placements and joint procedures.
Local Goodness, a farm-to-table celebration featuring local cuisine and live entertainment, is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Magnolia Manor in Mobile to raise funds for USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital.
The event offers an evening of thoughtfully sourced food, live music, and community spirit, all in support of services at the region’s only hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of children and women. Virginia O’Brien and Worth Hieronymus are serving as committee co-chairs for the event. The presenting sponsor is the USA Foundation.
Proceeds from Local Goodness will support the expansion of pediatric interventional radiology services — a minimally invasive medical specialty that uses imaging to treat conditions such as biopsies, central line placements and joint procedures. The new suite is expected to be the only facility of its kind within a 300-mile radius, bringing specialized care closer to families on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
“Through Local Goodness, our community continues to invest in life-changing technology at Children’s & Women’s Hospital,” said Shanna Thorpe with USA Health development. “We are just $391,000 away from reaching our goal, and the continued support of our community — along with the dedication of our strong event committee — will help ensure children and women across our region have access to the most advanced interventional radiology care close to home.”
Tickets are available for $175 per person, and sponsorship opportunities are also being offered to businesses and individuals who wish to support the hospital.
