Wellness@Work : Easy smoothie recipe for hydration and more 

For a refreshing, hydrating drink that isn’t water, try this simple recipe.

Hydration is important, and not just when you spend significant time outdoors or working out.    

Proper hydration helps replenish water lost through exercise and sweating. But getting adequate daily fluid intake offers even more benefits, such as balancing electrolytes, regulating internal body temperature, metabolizing food, regulating hunger, supporting the function of the body’s systems, lubricating joints, improving skin health, and more.     

The advantages of drinking enough water extend beyond your health. Studies show that dehydration can affect concentration levels, reaction times, and clarity of thought, which can impact the quality of your work.     

For a refreshing, hydrating drink that isn’t water, try this simple smoothie recipe below. Though it’s just four ingredients, it’s packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that work together to boost your immune system, support digestive health, elevate energy levels, and more.  
 

Tropical Smoothie   

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup coconut water 
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple 
  • 1 cup frozen mango 
  • 1 banana   

Directions   

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and mix. If not using frozen fruit, add ice cubes to make it cool and refreshing.
