Andrew Williams, CHFM, assistant director for safety at USA Health, was recently awarded the 2025 Regional Leader Award for Region 4 at the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) Annual Health Care Innovations Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

The award recognizes young professionals and individuals new to the field for their contributions to the areas of healthcare engineering and facility management; planning, design and construction; safety; clinical and biomedical engineering; and technical management.

Region 4 comprises ASHE chapters from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, the Bahamas and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Andrew’s commitment to the facilities and safety field is unprecedented,” said Jamey Greer, health system safety officer for USA Health and executive director of support services for USA Health Providence Hospital. “This award recognizes his commitment to continuous improvement in the healthcare arena.”

Williams has been an actively engaged member of the state chapter, AlaSHE, since joining the organization in May 2019. As media chair, he launched a quarterly newsletter, significantly increased the chapter’s social media presence and redesigned its website. Williams also serves on the national ASHE Core Competency Task Force and is president of the Gulf Coast Healthcare Engineers Association.

Earlier this year, Williams earned his Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification.
