Rachel Wright, MFA, an instructor of art at the University of South Alabama, had been living with shoulder pain that was starting to limit her ability to create glass-blown art. She sought the help of USA Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon Brad Clay, M.D., who performed rotator cuff surgery on Wright's shoulder in 2025. As she recovers, Wright can again pursue her passion for making art and mentoring her students at South.
The new office is located on the second floor of Building A101 at 6701 Airport Blvd. in west Mobile. It will be the primary location for USA Health Sports Medicine.
Last year, more than 100 student athletes were treated on Saturdays at USA Health for injuries ranging from fractures and tears to sprains and strains.
The clinic at the Strada Patient Care Center will serve middle school, high school and collegiate athletes.
For Brad Clay, M.D., his goal is to help people get back to enjoying the activities they love. The sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon grew up extensively involved in athletics and knew his love of medicine and sports would ultimately forge his passion in life.
