Both presentations were well received by conference attendees, reflecting growing national interest in mobile health models as a way to improve screening rates and address disparities in cancer outcomes.
The study analyzed a database of more than 100 patients who had undergone a Heller myotomy, confirming that the robotic approach resulted in fewer perforations of the esophagus and shorter hospital stays than did the laparoscopic approach.
The surgery was made possible through close collaboration among multiple specialists.

Winners in each category will be announced in the July 15 issue of Lagniappe, with an awards ceremony planned for Friday, July 17, at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Mobile.
