In her new role, Ezelle will be responsible for overseeing all processes related to medical staff at University Hospital, Children’s & Women’s Hospital and Providence Hospital.

“Sharon will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of medical staff and ensuring patient safety through compliance and oversight,” said Michael Chang, M.D., system chief medical officer and associate vice president for medical affairs. “The rapid expansion of our health system and number of providers within the system has created the need for Sharon’s considerable expertise managing the self-governing medical staffs at our hospitals. This function is foundational to our ability to provide safe, high-quality care to our patients.”

Her responsibilities will include medical staff governance support, oversight of the credentialling and privileging processes for the hospitals, conflict resolution and investigations, and strategic planning and leadership for medical staff operations.

Ezelle, who has been with USA Health since 1990, previously served as director of quality, performance improvement, patient safety and hospital credentialling.
