Sickle Cell Today, a semi-annual newsletter from the USA Health Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center, recently published the September issue in honor of National Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

The issue opens with an article by Johnson Haynes, Jr., M.D., in which he announces his retirement as director of the Sickle Cell Center. It also highlights the Pediatric to Adult Care Transition Program, discusses how stress and mental health impacts sickle cell disease and offers flu protection tips.
