University of South Alabama, including USA Health, wins six Nappie Awards

The University of South Alabama was named Best Local Company to Work For – Over 500 Employees, and USA President Jo Bonner received the award for Best Local College President. USA Health Pediatric Associates of Mobile received the award for Best Pediatric Group.

The University of South Alabama, including USA Health, received a total of six awards in the 2026 Nappie Awards, presented by Lagniappe, recognizing local people, places and organizations across the Gulf Coast.

The University of South Alabama was named Best Local Company to Work For – Over 500 Employees, and USA President Jo Bonner received the award for Best Local College President. USA Health Pediatric Associates of Mobile received the award for Best Pediatric Group.

The Nappie Awards are voted on by the community and celebrate excellence across a wide range of categories, from healthcare to hospitality.

During the competition, Lagniappe readers nominated their favorite people, places, and things in more than 300 categories. Top nominees were named, and votes were cast in the final round to select the winners. Award recipients were honored during a ceremony on Friday, July 17, at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Mobile.
