Hightower named employee of the month
Sheri Hightower, R.N., who works in clinical applications at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, has been named employee of the month for June. Among the comments made in her nomination: “For the past several years, Sheri has assumed a leading role in our electronic medical records application configuration, particularly in the area of regimens, oncology PowerPlans, infusion administration and clinical trials.” “Sheri works very effectively in an environment that can often involve a number of priority issues and interruptions. She is able to focus her attention on her tasks and is willing to work side by side with teammates in their environment to help with resolving concerns and training on system functionality.”
Safety MVPs, Great Catch winners named
USA Health hospitals recently named two Safety MVPs for the quarter and several Great Catch winners for April and May. Great Catch awards are given to employees for instances in which they spoke up for safety, escalated concerns, and went above and beyond the scope of their typical job duties. Each quarter, Safety MVPs are chosen for recognition from all Great Catch award winners for each USA Health facility.

“Research consistently shows that camps and recreational programs are essential therapeutic interventions that can improve health outcomes, emotional well-being, and quality of life for children and their families,” said Kim Thompson-Yates, who leads the Mapp Child and Family Life Program.
“Academic medicine allows me to stay involved in teaching, engage in research and continue evolving as a clinician. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a community that values curiosity, collaboration, and a shared pursuit of excellence,” said Gerardo Eman, M.D.
Richard J. Gualtieri, M.D., brings a wealth of experience to the health system, with clinical expertise spanning general oncology — particularly lung, breast, and colorectal cancers — as well as blood cancers and nonmalignant blood disorders.
“This tournament is more than a great day of golf; it’s a meaningful way to support our mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care to the communities we serve,” said Rick Metzger, MMHC, BSN, CEO of USA Health Providence Hospital.
