While new USA Health employees and certain groups already are receiving a redesigned USA Health badge, plans call for all staff members to get the updated ID in coming months.

“We will be rolling out the new USA Health badges from September through December,” said Kerry Flowers, director of organizational development for USA Health. “You may start seeing them around the hospitals and clinics as we have tested out the new design in certain pockets, such as for physician residents and medical students, and at other clinics.”

Other badge-related changes include the number of badge buddies available, Flowers said. Unless an employee is in a job that is patient facing or has a special designation in an emergency, all employee badge buddies will read “SAFETY STARTS WITH ME” to emphasize our safety efforts.

With nearly 5,000 new badges to create in a short amount of time, patience is requested while members of USA Health’s Human Resources department work through each division.

“We will be on site at various facilities over the next several weeks to update departments with new badges, including new pictures for all employees,” Flowers said. “Departments will be notified in advance so they can prepare accordingly.”

At this time, Flowers said, you should only request a new badge if your current badge is damaged or lost.
