Providence Foundation

Our Mission: Through philanthropy, Providence Foundation is an advocate for those in need, an ambassador for the mission of the hospital, and a steward of the resources entrusted to it.

Our Purpose

Established in 1984, Providence Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which receives charitable gifts for USA Health Providence Hospital. The Foundation manages donors’ gifts according to donors’ wishes, to support the continuing healthcare ministry established by the Daughters of Charity in Mobile, Alabama in 1854. Our Foundation allows the hospital to reach many people it might not otherwise be able to help. Our Foundation works with the Hospital in meeting the identified needs of the communities we serve. Contributions to the Foundation help to fund programs, buildings, and equipment.

Lectures typically take place either in the DePaul Center or Conference Room 1, both located at Providence Hospital. Presentations typically last an hour, with 30-45 minutes for the presentation and 15-20 for questions and open discussion. If you are interested in becoming a member or speaking at one of these lectures, email mary.bowab@southalabama.edu.

Annual Campaign

Each year, Providence Foundation meets a specific need of Providence Hospital through our Annual Campaign. In 2023, over $60,000 was raised for the Beth M. Rouse Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. This year, all proceeds from the campaign will fund the purchase of new EKG monitors for the Cardiac Care Unit. Go to Make a donation towards this worthy cause.
