Growing up with both parents as pediatricians shaped her interest in the field, as she saw firsthand the positive impact it can have on a community.
In his presentation, Richard Menger, M.D., MPA, shared findings from a collaborative study focused on reducing complications in spine surgery, particularly at the lumbosacral junction.
"It is crucial that we continue to educate and collaborate with others on strategies that will help reduce the burden of HPV-related cancers, particularly in medically underserved areas like ours in South Alabama," said Casey Daniel, Ph.D., M.P.H.
“Empowering our families to feel more like a parent in the NICU, when bonding can feel limited, is so important in our roles as NICU caregivers,” said Rachel Stanley, RN, NICU nurse and parent educator.
Winners in each category will be announced in the July 16 issue of Lagniappe, with an awards ceremony planned for Friday, July 18, at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Mobile.
