Laura Addison-Sykora, RN, MSN, FNP-C, recently joined USA Health as a nurse practitioner in the department of surgery.

She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. In 2014, she received the USA College of Nursing Excellence in Practice Award for research conducted in the clinical setting. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing. With more than 24 years of nursing experience, most recently, Sykora was a family nurse practitioner in Baldwin County.

In her role as a nurse practitioner at USA Health University Hospital and Mastin Surgical Specialists, Sykora will work directly with bariatric surgeon William Richards, M.D., professor and chair of surgery at the USA College of Medicine. She will see surgery patients during the initial evaluation process as well as follow-up care after surgery.
