Mobile Heart Specialists officially begins operating under USA Health
The addition of Mobile Heart Specialists further strengthens USA Health's comprehensive heart and vascular program by expanding access to specialized cardiovascular expertise and enhances collaboration across the region's only academic health system.

USA Health has expanded its cardiovascular services with the addition of Mobile Heart Specialists, P.C., strengthening access to advanced heart care across the Gulf Coast. The practice will continue serving patients as Mobile Heart Specialists at USA Health, maintaining its locations in Mobile and Evergreen while continuing to provide its full range of comprehensive cardiology services.
The addition brings five board-certified cardiologists with expertise in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, structural heart disease, and the advanced management of coronary and peripheral vascular disease to the University of South Alabama’s academic health system.
The physicians also specialize in the treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders, including catheter ablations, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and pacemaker implantation, supported by a comprehensive non-invasive cardiac diagnostic laboratory.
Joining USA Health are:
- Chad M. Alford, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, and USA graduate who specializes in advanced coronary interventions;
- Noel W. Bedwell, M.D., a cardiac electrophysiologist with specialized training in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders;
- Christopher S. Brown, M.D., a general cardiologist providing comprehensive cardiovascular care;
- Kevin B. DeAndrade, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, director of the structural heart disease program and program director of the USA Health Interventional Cardiology Fellowship; and
- W. Dale Hardy, M.D., a general cardiologist, and USA Health-trained physician with extensive experience caring for patients throughout the region.
Collectively, these physicians bring decades of experience diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, from common heart disease to complex structural heart and electrophysiology disorders.

The practice also broadens USA Health's significant capabilities in structural heart interventions, peripheral vascular disease management, cardiac rhythm care, and cardiovascular clinical research.
In addition to expanding patient care, the Mobile Heart Specialists physicians share a commitment to educating the next generation of cardiologists. DeAndrade serves as program director of the USA Health Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program, and all hold the faculty position of assistant professor at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at USA.
