USA Health represented in Mobile Bay magazine’s new 40 Under 40 class for 2026
The latest Mobile Bay 40 Under 40 class includes administrators, researchers, surgeons and professors representing USA, USA Health and the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine.
Mobile Bay magazine recognized three representatives from the University of South Alabama and USA Health, the university’s health system, in the 40 Under 40 class for 2026. Each year, the magazine highlights 40 residents under the age of 40 who demonstrate leadership, professional excellence, and a commitment to the Mobile Bay area. Winners are selected from the business and professional community, the arts, medicine, education, community involvement, and more.
Meet our representatives:

LaTasha Henry, M.D., a gastroenterologist and medical director at USA Health Providence Gastroenterology, is recognized for her clinical excellence, leadership, and commitment to patient-centered care. A native of Ashland, Kentucky, Henry was inspired early in life to pursue medicine after witnessing limited access to quality healthcare in her community. Since joining USA Health in 2023, she has quickly distinguished herself as a leader, becoming medical director in a short time and managing one of the highest patient volumes among gastroenterologists in a large, multi-state health system.
Board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, she is the only physician in her group performing advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS, and she was a finalist for Best Digestive Health Provider in the 2024 Nappie Awards. In addition to her clinical and surgical work, Henry is deeply committed to education, mentoring, and community outreach, regularly speaking to underserved populations about cancer prevention and the importance of screening.

Ayesha Munir, M.D., an assistant professor of interdisciplinary clinical oncology at the Whiddon College of Medicine and a medical oncologist and hematologist at the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute, provides compassionate, comprehensive cancer care while advancing breast cancer research. She earned her medical degree from Aga Khan University in Pakistan, completed her residency at Albany Medical Center in New York, and her fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she served as chief clinical fellow.
Since joining the Mitchell Cancer Institute in 2023, Munir has expanded the institute’s research portfolio and helped streamline care for breast cancer patients. She also serves as principal investigator for multiple clinical trials focused on improving treatment and survivorship outcomes, while also presenting nationally, publishing peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and engaging the community through events such as the annual Think Pink Tea for breast cancer awareness.

Julia James Shreve, J.D., interim chief legal counsel and associate legal counsel for USA Health, plays a critical role in guiding the largest academic healthcare system in the Mobile region through complex legal and regulatory landscapes. Since joining USA Health in 2021, she has quickly risen through the ranks, providing strategic counsel on organizational change while carefully balancing risk and innovation. Julia was instrumental in USA Health’s acquisition of Providence Hospital, dedicating hundreds of hours to navigating and resolving the transaction’s multifaceted legal challenges.
A graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School of Law, she is an active member of the Mobile Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Julia is deeply engaged in the community, volunteering as a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and sharing her commitment to wellness as a certified yoga instructor.
