
Combined medical town hall to offer free screenings, health resources
The town hall will address several important health topics, including diabetes, hypertension, men’s health and autism, while giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions and discuss health concerns with professionals.
USA Health programs will join local churches and community organizations for a combined medical town hall from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 29, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 545 Cody Road in Mobile. It is designed to connect community members with healthcare professionals, free health screenings and resources to support healthier lives.
The collaborative event is being organized by Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Amity Missionary Baptist Church and Jackson District AME Zion Church. The town hall will address several important health topics, including diabetes, hypertension, men’s health and autism, while giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions and discuss health concerns with professionals.
Participating USA Health programs include the Mitchell Cancer Institute, Stroke Program, Building Safer Communities Collaborative and USA Health Outreach. Other community partners include Lifelines Counseling Services and Project Inspire.
The event is part of a collaborative effort to increase access to health information and resources and encourage community members to take an active role in their health and well-being.
