USA Health has been nationally recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for New Grads 2025, highlighting its award-winning workplace culture, mentorship, and career development for recent graduates. USA Health, the academic health system for the University of South Alabama, received the highest ranking of any employer in Alabama and is the only organization from the Mobile area to make the list.
"This recognition is more than just a national honor. It is a powerful statement about our commitment to supporting new professionals right here in Alabama," said Natalie Fox, DNP, PNP-BC, interim CEO and chief physician enterprise officer of USA Health. "Our health system is dedicated to creating a welcoming and empowering environment where new graduates receive the hands-on experience and tools they need to thrive in their careers, which ultimately enables them to deliver the highest quality care to our community."
The annual ranking, conducted by Forbes in partnership with market research firm Statista, identifies the top 500 employers across the United States that offer enriching experiences for early-career professionals. USA Health’s inclusion reflects its reputation as an organization that empowers new graduates to thrive in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment. Out of 500 companies listed, USA Health ranked 160.
America’s Best Employers for New Grads 2025 were identified in an independent survey of over 100,000 U.S. young professionals (employees who have less than 10 years of work experience) working for companies employing at least 1,000 people within the U.S. The final score is based on two types of evaluations: personal (those given by employees themselves) and public (those given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry).
As the leading academic health system along the upper Gulf Coast, USA Health combines innovative medical care with education and research. Its strong connection to the University of South Alabama allows new grads, from nurses and physicians to researchers and administrators, to engage in meaningful work from day one.
In 2024, USA Health announced its continuing focus on employee culture and experience, specifically creating a separate department aimed at making USA Health more than a job — but a place to grow, lead, and make an impact on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
“Being named one of America’s Best Employers for New Grads complements our deep belief that culture shapes careers,” said Kerry Flowers, SHRM-SCP, interim chief human resources officer and chief culture and experience officer at USA Health. “Welcoming new grads is part of our DNA and directly supports our three-part mission of patient care, research, and training. It’s exciting to see Forbes recognize the environment we’ve worked hard to build.”
