National APP Week is observed during the last week of September to recognize advanced practice providers, including nurse practitioners (CRNPs), physician assistants/associates (PAs), nurse midwives (CNMs), and nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), who are highly trained healthcare professionals dedicated to providing expert, patient-centered medical care.

APPs assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform vital clinical procedures, expanding healthcare access for local residents. APPs also serve as essential leaders, educators, and collaborators within interdisciplinary care teams, improving health outcomes, and strengthening the resilience of our regional healthcare system.

What is your favorite thing about your career?

I love the continued learning opportunities while simultaneously being able to support, educate, and guide families through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I am blessed to experience miracles happening before my eyes daily.

What do you love about being employed by USA Health?

I love learning alongside and assisting in teaching the next generation of providers.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

At my kindergarten graduation, I stood before my classmates and their parents proclaiming, "I want to be a baby doctor!" And now I get to live out that dream, loving on and treating tiny humans every day.

I love to sing!

What do you love about being employed by USA Health?

My favorite part of working with USA Health is the team. The people here make every day better, and I’ve met so many wonderful colleagues who have become like family. I also truly appreciate the opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Since I was a little girl, I always knew that God’s calling for my life was to be a nurse. I never imagined that journey would eventually lead me to become a family nurse practitioner, but I’m so grateful for where that calling has taken me.

What is your hidden talent?

I can tell you just about anything you want to know about Benjamin Franklin, and I’m pretty good at crossword puzzles. Not sure if that’s a hidden talent or just a very specific quirk.

My favorite part of being a pediatric nurse practitioner is building relationships with my patients and their families. I love watching children grow, celebrating their milestones, and knowing that I can make a positive difference in their health and well-being.

What is your favorite thing about your career?

I enjoy working as a nurse practitioner in trauma because it challenges me to think quickly, stay calm under pressure, and provide compassionate care during patients’ and families’ most unexpected and traumatic moments. I value teamwork, the variety of cases, and the opportunity to make an immediate difference in patients’ lives while continually growing my clinical knowledge and skills.

What is your favorite thing about your career?  

My favorite thing about my career is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients while building lasting relationships with them and their families.

What do you love about being employed by USA Health?  

I value the opportunity to work alongside dedicated physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, researchers, and support staff who are all united by a shared mission to improve the health of our community.

What did you want to be when you grew up?  

Growing up, I always knew I wanted a career in healthcare. I was particularly interested in becoming either a pediatrician or an epidemiologist because I was fascinated by both caring for patients and understanding how diseases affect communities. As my career evolved, nursing provided the perfect opportunity to combine those interests.

What is your hidden talent?  

My hidden talent is that I’m a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I am good at playing basketball and softball, and I love staying active through sports. I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes, but one talent that often surprises people is that I can do hair and have been since I was 9 years old.

I get to provide compassionate, skilled care to people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

What did you want to be when you grew up?  

In kindergarten, I wanted to grow up to be Batman. In grade school, I wanted to drive trains. In high school and beyond for a season I was to be a pharmacist. I guess we'll have to see when I grow up!

What is your hidden talent?  

I can design, fabricate and install elaborate car audio systems.
