To further expand access to women’s healthcare, USA Health recently added Katherine Grette, M.D., a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, to see patients at the Center for Women’s Health in Mobile.

As part of the University of South Alabama’s academic health system, Grette is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine. She provides comprehensive women’s healthcare, including obstetric care, prenatal care, gynecologic services, and preventive care for patients across the Gulf Coast region.

Her clinical interests include polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), chronic pelvic pain, infertility evaluation and treatment, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She cares for women throughout all stages of life, from adolescence through menopause.

“Dr. Grette brings exceptional expertise in obstetrics and gynecology and a strong commitment to patient-centered care,” said Mary “Mimi” Munn, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at USA Health. “Her experience in infertility care, PCOS management and minimally invasive surgery enhances the specialized women’s services we offer patients across the region.”

In addition to her clinical work, Grette is passionate about medical education and the training of OB-GYN resident physicians. She actively participates in women’s health research and has served as a resource for resident-led research initiatives.

At the Center for Women’s Health, Grette provides outpatient care including routine gynecologic visits, pregnancy care, and treatment for complex women’s health conditions. The center is part of USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital.

She earned a degree in medicine from the University of Washington in Seattle and completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, where she was honored for excellence in education and clinical training, including receiving national faculty awards for excellence in resident education in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Grette also was recognized by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists with a Minimally Invasive Surgery Award, and several distinctions during residency for teaching, research, and subspecialty training, including awards in gynecology, urogynecology and gynecologic oncology.

“I am excited to join USA Health and to care for women in our community,” Grette said. “My goal is to partner with patients, provide individualized care and support them through every stage of their reproductive and gynecologic health.”

Grette is accepting new patients. To make an appointment, call 251-415-1496.
