Construction crews work in the area of University Hospital that formerly was the emergency department before the opening of the Fanny Meisler Trauma Center. The area is being remodeled as a state-of-the-art operating suite and is expected to open in August 2023. The 13,866-square-foot area will house four additional operating rooms, one hybrid operating room and 12 additional post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) beds.
