Andrew Conniff, a member of the USA Health Office of Marketing and Communications, was recently recognized with two awards during the 47th Telly Awards announced in May.

He won a Silver Telly for a video in the biography, non-broadcast category that chronicled former patient Sydnee Cantley’s care through treatment at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital and a Bronze Telly for a video in the biography, non-broadcast category that followed 1st Lt. Nathan Cole’s treatment at USA Health Kelly Butler ALS Center.

For the videos, Conniff conducted interviews with the subjects while also filming the pieces and completing postproduction work. You can watch Cantley’s video and Cole’s video below.

"Andrew's work exemplifies the power of storytelling in academic medicine. These videos highlight not only the exceptional care our patients receive at USA Health, but also the compassion, innovation and expertise that define our mission as an academic health system,” said Marie Katz, executive director of the Office of Marketing and Communications for USA Health. “Andrew's ability to build trust with patients, capture their journeys with authenticity and produce compelling, high-quality content helps connect our community to the life-changing work happening every day across USA Health. We're proud to see his talent recognized once again on an international stage."

Previously, Conniff won two other Telly Awards, in 2024 and 2025, for videos about patients cared for at USA Health. A graduate of the University of South Alabama, he previously worked as a photojournalist in television news, where he was named 2019 Photojournalist of the Year by the Alabama Broadcasters Association.

The Telly Awards, the world’s largest honor for video and television across all screens, are judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council, an industry body of more than 200 leading experts from advertising agencies, production companies, and major television networks reflective of the multi-screen industry The Telly Awards celebrate. All judges have previously won a Silver Telly Award.
