USA Health leaders share thanks to employees for work during EMR outage at Providence

As part of the 2023 acquisition agreement, USA Health Providence Hospital temporarily remains on some of Ascension Healthcare’s information technology systems. Beginning May 8, Ascension's IT systems — including ones used by Providence Hospital — began experiencing network disruptions. The core electronic-medical-record system used by Providence was restored last week thanks to the work of USA Health employees.

A letter to USA Health employees

We are happy to announce that as of 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, the core electronic medical record (EMR) has been restored at Providence.

This could not have been accomplished without the hard work and dedication of countless members of the USA Health team — everyone from IT to clinical and support staff who volunteered to serve where they were needed in the last few weeks.

Please accept our sincere appreciation for your tireless efforts.

Our patients, their families and caregivers will continue to benefit from the time you spent away from your own loved ones to ensure patient care was minimally impacted.

As you know, safety is our priority. Your steadfast commitment to our mission — and ensuring our patients receive the highest level of compassionate care in the safest environment possible — is the reason we were able to overcome this challenge.

With gratitude,

John Marymont, M.D., M.B.A.
