Lauren Sutley, R.N., B.S.N., has been named USA Health Physicians Group employee health and infection control prevention coordinator. In this role, Sutley will perform health screenings of employees, manage infection control and prevention programs, and serve as a communication link for clinical students, clinic employees and hospital committees. Sutley’s position is a new necessity amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“If there is a positive COVID employee case, I will be following up with the clinic, and I will be making sure everyone was masking appropriately,” she said. “In terms of employee health, I am conducting flu clinics, and I will eventually start an onboarding process with all new clinic employees.”

Sutley also will help USA Health’s physician offices transition to provider-based facilities, ensuring that they follow the same regulations and standards as USA Health’s hospitals. In addition, Sutley will ensure that the offices are following the necessary protocol and policies as they adjust to the change.

Sutley initially earned her bachelor’s degree in history at Spring Hill College but felt a calling to enter the medical field, later earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing degree from the University of Mobile.

Prior to joining USA Health, Sutley worked as an infection control nurse, a registered nurse and as an infusion nurse at several local healthcare organizations.
