Dear USA Health team members,
USA Health is launching an initiative called SHARE that confirms our commitment to effective, honest, transparent and empathic communication, especially following events in which a patient has experienced harm.
SHARE stands for Speak Honestly, Act Responsibly, Respect Everyone. Some of you may know this initiative as CANDOR, a program presented to health system leaders by Tim McDonald, M.D., J.D., chief patient safety and risk officer for RLDatix.
As we roll out SHARE, we will be identifying individuals across USA Health who can serve as skilled communicators and coaches, as well as provide "Care for the Caregiver" during difficult situations. These roles require the ability to demonstrate empathy, sincerity, honesty and active listening and to create a sense of safety during emotionally charged situations.
To help identify these communicators, we invite you to take a brief, 20-minute communication assessment.
Afterward, you’ll receive information about your results and how to interpret them.
