Rapid COVID testing available to USA Health employees
The new rapid molecular PCR test provides results within 15 minutes, with negative results able to clear employees for work. The new test also can be used for asymptomatic employees following exposures.
USA Health is making it easier for employees to get tested for COVID-19 quickly and to schedule a test outside of normal business hours.
The ABBOT ID Now Rapid Molecular PCR test is available for USA Health employees at the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall testing site. The new rapid molecular PCR test provides results within 15 minutes, with negative results able to clear employees for work. The new test also can be used for asymptomatic employees following exposures.
The USA Health testing center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Employees should continue to sign up for testing based on symptoms or exposures as outlined in the Return to Work Algorithm by using this Employee Intake form.
In addition, if employees develop COVID-19 symptoms outside of testing center hours, they can go online to self-schedule for early morning testing between 7-8 a.m. This will allow employees with mild, cold-like symptoms to get tested and receive results prior to work.
This option will be very important as we roll out COVID vaccinations because there may be some flu-like symptoms that accompany vaccine administration. Employees who experience symptoms during regular business hours should complete the Employee Intake form.
