Providence Wound Care & Hyperbarics Recognized for National Excellence in Wound Healing and Patient Satisfaction
These honors reflect the center’s outstanding commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, and superior patient outcomes.
Providence Wound Care & Hyperbarics at USA Health Providence Hospital has received two prestigious national awards from Healogics, a national provider of advanced wound care services: the Center of Distinction Award and the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award.
“These achievements truly illustrate the focus on quality care and outcomes that all of our care teams strive for every day,” said Rick Metzger, MMHC, BSN, CEO of USA Health Providence Hospital, “but even more important than the awards are the exceptional outcomes this represents for each individual we have been honored to serve.”
These honors reflect the center’s outstanding commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, and superior patient outcomes. Over the past 12 months, the center achieved a patient satisfaction rate of more than 92% and ranked in the top 10% of eligible Healogics Wound Care Centers nationwide for clinical excellence — measured by comprehensive healing rates, among other factors.
“We are excited and proud. We set a goal to achieve Center of Distinction in 2024, and by the third quarter, we saw we were on track and aimed a bit higher to also achieve Center of Excellence,” said Jamey Greer, executive director of support services for Providence and health system safety officer. “I love it when a plan comes together.”
These recognitions are a direct result of evidence-based care models and a deeply committed, multidisciplinary team, she said. Clinicians interact with most patients weekly, utilizing advanced wound care techniques and adjusting treatment plans in real-time with a target of healing all patients within 14 weeks.
“In my experience, all teams at Providence show the same level of patient-centered focus and attention to quality outcomes,” Greer said. “We do not simply see patients in clinic because they arrive in our lobby. We see patients with a goal of improving their quality of life.”
A member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers, Providence Wound Care & Hyperbarics offers highly specialized treatment for chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and infections. Advanced therapies include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissue applications, biosynthetic dressings, growth factor treatments, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy — which surrounds patients with 100% oxygen to accelerate the healing process.
“USA Health Providence could not be prouder of our wound care team who have worked diligently over the past few years to assure the highest quality and patient satisfaction for all those we serve in our community,” Metzger said.
