Stroke program shares health education and more at event supporting homeless

Representatives from the USA Health Stroke Program at University Hospital and Providence Hospital recently provided 100 bags containing stroke education, personal hygiene supplies and more at Project Homeless Connect. This one-day event connects those experiencing homelessness with valuable services, free of charge, including healthcare, legal assistance, housing assistance, veterans resources, employment services, hygiene services, clothing, supplies, education, identification, and other vital assistance.

City of Mobile proclaims September as Sickle Cell Awareness Month

One of the month's signature events is the PACT Transition Planning Open House on Sept. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is designed to help adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease prepare for the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare services, while connecting families with resources and support systems.
