USA Health Chaplain Kim Crawford Meeks spent time reading to children in kindergarten through second grade at Holloway Elementary School dressed as Mother Goose. Her visit was part of the USA Health University Hospital community outreach program.
The Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA) is the professional association for some 7,000 physicians of all specialties throughout Alabama. MASA held its annual session recently in Orange Beach.
Since opening in 1990, the school within the hospital has served more than 35,000 children. Anne M. Vella, Ph.D., founder of ClassAct, is retiring at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
“It is appropriate that we slow down for a moment and say something our employees need to hear: ‘Thank you!’” said Kerry Flowers, chief culture and experience officer for USA Health.

USA Health recently launched a local chapter of Walk with a Doc, a walking and education program that aims to inspire communities through movement and conversation.
