Stroke Program collects coloring books and crayons for local annual drive

The USA Health Stroke Program collected donations of crayons and coloring books as part of the 3rd Annual Coloring Book Drive at Stewart Memorial CME Church, then were present this past Saturday to distribute the items and provide stroke education to children and adults in attendance. Children who attended colored activity sheets teaching the acronym “BEFAST,” which is helpful in remember the signs and symptoms of a stroke.

City of Mobile proclaims September as Sickle Cell Awareness Month

One of the month's signature events is the PACT Transition Planning Open House on Sept. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is designed to help adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease prepare for the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare services, while connecting families with resources and support systems.
