Children’s & Women’s Hospital takes part in community event in Tillman’s Corner
Staff members from USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital took part in a pirate-themed community outreach event on July 26, where they distributed 38 booster seats to those in need who qualified. The group also presented information about water, fire, pedestrians and medication safety. Hundreds of children and families attended the event at the Southwest Mobile Chamber of Commerce in Tillman’s Corner.

Providers participate in Walk with a Doc
USA Health Adolescent and Young Adult Health providers Kristin Rager, M.D., and Pamela Pickens-Taylor, DNP, in collaboration with USA Health physician Richard Rieske, M.D., and USA Health Pediatrics physician Katie Williams, M.D., took part in a recent Walk with a Doc. In this community event, held on the campus of the University of South Alabama, residents are invited to join USA Health providers for a walk and healthy conversation.

Stroke Program provides education at back-to-school event
The USA Health Stroke Program recently attended the “Back to School & Healthy Tools” event at the Bayou La Batre Community Center. Free health screenings and free backpacks were available. The USA Health Stroke Program provided education about stroke awareness and prevention, including how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke.
