USA Health leaders spread joy to local students through reading

Josh Snow, CEO of University Hospital, and Kim Crawford Meeks, Spiritual Health and Counseling Manager, spent time reading to kindergarten and first-grade students at Ariel W. Holloway Elementary for their Polar Express Day, coordinated by Natalie Imsand, ARI Local Reading Specialist with Mobile County Public Schools.

Meeks, as Mrs. Claus, shared “Old Man Peach Fuzz,” a story she wrote that was inspired by a character her grandmother created, and Snow, who played a very tall elf, read “There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow” by Lucille Colandro. Their visit concluded with Mrs. Claus sprinkling Christmas joy dust in the students’ hair.

Benjamin Estrada tapped to lead USA Health pediatrics

“The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families is what has always inspired me, and it is the people of pediatrics who have shown me what that commitment looks like every day. Their example has reinforced an enduring truth: our purpose extends beyond individual accomplishments because we are united by a mission far greater than ourselves.”, said Benjamin Estrada, M.D.
