USA Health Stroke Program gives back at Project Homeless Connect

The USA Health Stroke Program at University Hospital and Providence Hospital participated in Project Homeless Connect last week at The Grounds in Mobile. The one-day event, organized by Housing First, Inc., brings critical services together in one location for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. USA Health’s stroke team provided stroke education, health awareness, and personal care items. The project helps connect attendees to free healthcare, housing assistance, legal aid, employment services, and more. Thanks to generous community donations, more than 100 people received men’s socks, underwear, wet wipes, and family-friendly items to support those in need.

Benjamin Estrada tapped to lead USA Health pediatrics

“The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families is what has always inspired me, and it is the people of pediatrics who have shown me what that commitment looks like every day. Their example has reinforced an enduring truth: our purpose extends beyond individual accomplishments because we are united by a mission far greater than ourselves.”, said Benjamin Estrada, M.D.
