Members of USA Health Providence Gastroenterology continued their support of the Mulherin Home, a residential home providing care for individuals with developmental disabilities, with a Valentine's Day project. The clinic "adopted" the residents last July, and built such a connection with them that staff have kept up monthly or bi-monthly visits with them. During their latest visit, USA Health staff helped the residents make Valentine's Day cards, took selfies with them, and hosted a dance party.

City of Mobile proclaims September as Sickle Cell Awareness Month

One of the month's signature events is the PACT Transition Planning Open House on Sept. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is designed to help adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease prepare for the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare services, while connecting families with resources and support systems.
