Stroke Program supports community with education and more
The USA Health Stroke Program recently attended Christian Union Primitive Baptist Church’s back-to-school event. Free school supplies, health screenings and giveaways were available. Stroke program representatives provided education about stroke awareness and prevention, including how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke.

MCI joins community health fair to promote cancer prevention
The USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute recently participated in the Bayou La Batre Community Center’s health fair, offering education on cancer prevention and risk factors. The outreach event connected families with vital health resources and helped raise awareness about the importance of early detection and healthy lifestyle choices.

MCI hosts free PSA screening event at Ebenezer Baptist Church
As part of its mission to promote cancer prevention and early detection, the Mitchell Cancer Institute offered free PSA screenings at Ebenezer Baptist Church over the weekend. The event aimed to increase awareness about prostate cancer and encourage men in the community to take charge of their health.
