USA Health plans activities for National Hospital Week 2026

Employees will enjoy special meals, treats and events during a week that recognizes healthcare workers, hospitals and health systems for the role they play in supporting communities.

This week, USA Health is celebrating National Hospital Week with a variety of activities, including employee appreciation picnics, to recognize the vital role that hospitals, health systems and healthcare workers play in supporting communities.  

Activities include:

Monday through Friday

  • University Hospital
    • Employees can enter a guessing game for a chance to win a prize at the second-floor café entrance.  

Wednesday, May 13

  • University Hospital
    • Employee Appreciation Picnic featuring Sonny’s BBQ, a participation raffle, music by Ryan and the Shotcallers Band, and a Magic Memories photo booth  
    • Day shift: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Mastin Building lawn (inclement weather location is Café Conference Room).
    • Night shift: 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Café Conference Room
    • This event is open to employees from University Hospital, Mastin Professional Building, Moorer Building, Stanton Road Clinic and the Freestanding Emergency Department.
  • Providence Hospital
    • 11 a.m.: Coca-Cola new product tasting in the cafeteria
    • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Not So Sloppy Joe food truck available

Thursday, May 14

  • Children’s & Women’s Hospital
    • Employee Appreciation Picnic featuring Sonny’s BBQ and a Magic Memories photo booth
    • Day shift: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the hospital courtyard
    • Night shift: 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Panda Cares Room
    • This event is open to employees from Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the Strada Patient Care Center, the Mitchell Cancer Institute and Catherine Street offices.
  • University Hospital
    • Ice cream bars for employees
    • Day shift: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Café Conference Room
    • Night shift: 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Café Conference Room
  • Providence Hospital
    • 2 to 4 p.m.: Sno Shack Snow Cones food truck

Friday, May 15

  • University Hospital
    • The University Hospital Gift Shoppe will offer 25% off all employee purchases. The Shoppe is also hosting an employee appreciation raffle in which participants guess the number of Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses in a candy jar to win prizes. The first-place winner will receive a USA Health sweatshirt; the second-place winner will receive a USA Health T-shirt; and the third-place winner will receive a USA Health tumbler. Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Providence Hospital
    • Employee Appreciation Day in the Gift Shop. Employees can enjoy 25% off merchandise (some exclusions apply).
    • Noon: Photo Scavenger Hunt entries are due.
