Leslie Carley, nurse manager for the labor and delivery unit at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, will retire after almost 20 years of service. Her last day is Friday, Dec. 11.

Carley held several positions at Children’s & Women’s Hospital including nurse manager on the high-risk OB/GYN floor and as a teacher in the education department.

She said she will miss her patients and work family.

“For my patients, childbirth has been my focus for many years – it’s a very rewarding area of nursing,” Carley said. “I enjoyed working with the nurses, doctors and employees in my unit and other departments as well. Children’s & Women’s Hospital is truly a special place.”

With a goal of elevating the patient experience, Carley led a renovation of labor and delivery in recent years, even selecting the art of newborns and their parents to hang in a hallway.

During retirement, Carley plans to travel and spend time with her husband, three children and five grandchildren. She also looks forward to riding her horse, Gus.
