Providence Hospital presents DAISY Awards

Mary “Sue” Gunter, RN, and Nyla Ridgeway, RN, nurses at Providence Hospital, were presented with DAISY Awards during October and November.

Mary “Sue” Gunter, RN

Among the comments made about Gunter:

  • “Her prioritization of patient care is just simply impressive. She knows when something has to wait and prioritizes all of her patients masterfully. Sue has a great work ethic and keeps unit morale up.”
  • “Sue has been a major assist in my growth as a nursing student and in helping me understand the 'why' behind specific tasks.”
Nyla Ridgeway, RN

Among the comments made about Ridgeway:

  • Nyla was the nurse tending to me as I went through unbearable pain and stress. She went above and beyond to ensure that I was fully aware of everything that was going on and taken care of…. She was the best labor and delivery nurse we had.”
  • “Our son had to be transferred to Children’s & Women’s Hospital, but my wife had to stay at Providence. Nyla kept my wife at ease the entire time and was extremely friendly. I appreciate that she was there for my family during a difficult time.”
