Schonemann from MCI Fairhope receives DAISY Award

Katrina Schonemann, RN, a nurse who works in infusion at the Mitchell Cancer Institute in Fairhope, was presented with a DAISY Award. The DAISY Award honors nurses for their compassionate and extraordinary care. A few words about Katrina, “What I admire most is how Katrina consistently goes the extra mile. Whether it’s adjusting things to make me more comfortable, anticipating my needs before I even voice them, or offering words of encouragement on difficult days, she has a gift for making patients feel safe, supported, and seen.”

MCI names Wright as October’s employee of the month

The Mitchell Cancer Institute congratulates Holly Wright, PET/CT technician with the radiation oncology team, as employee of the month for October. A coworker wrote, “Holly contributes to the MCI mission by consistently striving to assist all our patients with a caring attitude. She has a deep understanding of our cancer patients’ and their families’ burdens. She alleviates our patients’ fear of procedures by being kind and empathetic. It's not just about doing a job for Holly. It's about showing compassion and delivering excellence. Her efforts don't just meet expectations; they change lives!”

Providence Hospital presents BEE Award

Kathryn Laird, a respiratory therapist at Providence Hospital, was presented with a BEE Award for Being Excellent Every Day. The nomination read, “Kat goes above and beyond to try to make every patient on every floor feel special. She always is kind to employees and has a smile on her face for everyone.”
