Wilson honored at University Hospital 

Russell Wilson, RN, a member of the Vascular Access Team, was honored at a retirement celebration on Feb. 27. Wilson retired after 44 years of service at University Hospital. "Russell was always dedicated to patient care,” said his co-worker Maegan Tapia, RN. “Regardless of what it entailed, even if it did not involve vascular access, Russell would advocate for the patient."

Barton named employee of the month

Patty Barton, care access associate at the USA Health Digestive Health Center, was named employee for the month for February for the Department of Internal Medicine. She has accumulated 32 years of dedicated service to the university, and Barton has been a part of the GI division since 2011.

Her co-workers recognize this milestone as a reflection of her unwavering commitment, deep care, patience, and kindness she shows to everyone she works with and the patients she serves. "She has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to listen, support, and lead with empathy — qualities that have undoubtedly contributed to the success and wellbeing of our team and mission," her announcement read. "We recognize that Ms. Patty's professionalism and gentle demeanor have been a source of strength and inspiration to many."
