Ashley Cowan-Gibbs named MCI’s May Employee of the Month

Oncology Intake Navigator Ashley Cowan-Gibbs at the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute received congratulations for being named the Employee of the Month for May at the cancer center. Her colleagues shared kind words of appreciation:

“Ashley is truly a star! Offering her patients and co-workers not only a wealth of knowledge but also a warm and gentle heart. Her compassion shines through in everything she does.”

“She always has a smile on her face. She is polite and caring. When you speak to her you can tell she is an active listener. As for new patients, she is able to ask those important/embarrassing questions with grace. Patients feel comfortable talking to her.” 


Charles Johnson, M.D., retires after more than 30 years at Providence

USA Health Providence Gastroenterology and the GI Lab helped Charles Johnson, M.D., a longtime gastroenterologist, say goodbye to the bowtie after more than 30 years of service at the west Mobile hospital with a reception in the DePaul Center. Johnson, who retired after 40 years as a medical provider, was presented with several cakes, gifts and well wishes from his colleagues.

Troy M. Sofinowski, M.D., is an expert in the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques for treating complex kidney stones and enlarged prostates. Many of these minimally invasive procedures can be performed in an outpatient setting, allowing patients to recover more quickly with less pain.
