Moore named employee of the month

Roytesia “Roy” Moore, RN, a nurse who works in the infusion suite at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, was named employee of the month for December. Among the comments made in her nomination:

“Roy is an outstanding nurse who consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does. She works efficiently, diligently, and always prioritizes, setting a great example for everyone around her.”

“Roy is calm and patient, and her ability to provide comfort during difficult times is a gift that makes a real difference in the lives of the patients she serves.”

Young receives DAISY Award

Kim P. Young, a nurse at Providence Hospital, was honored with a DAISY Award for nurses.

From her nomination: “She was concerned with the pain and fever my husband was experiencing and kept him comfortable. She would check on him and come and talk to him. She would let him know she was praying for him. She truly has a heart for nursing, and it shows. The other nurses had great respect for her and the level of care and support she gives, not only to her patients but to her fellow co-workers and student nurses, as well.”
